55-year-old Emidio Angellozzi is a fifth-generation quarryman and was introduced to truffle picking by his grandfather Zenobio. After dropping out of school, when he was only a boy he chose to dedicate himself to this craft helped by his brother Zenobio and his father Giuseppe. At first, production was almost exclusively spontaneuos and abundant, then after the abandon of farm lands it started diminishing and today truffle production requires specific production systems. Emidio’s company employs 16 collaborators and covers around a hundred of hectares between the territories of Roccafluvione, Venarotta and Palmiano in Marche italian region, where white, refined black and black summer truffles are produced.
