New Farmers. The CAP and the challanges of European Agriculture – Producer organisations

The story of 64 year-old Antonio Cambise, takes us back to to the 1960s, when his dad Attilio started dealing with vegetable cultivation full time. An activity which was and still is a true engine for the economy of the territory of Fucino in Abruzzo.
Today Antonio with his 2 brothers and 10 people among children and nephews is the fourth generation of entrepreneurs.
His company comprises 150 workers, 450 hectares of cultivated land, of which over half is his property, divided into carrots, all types of lettuce, potatoes, cellery, spinach, parsley, fennel and cabbage and cauliflower for a total of 16.000 tons yearly production.
He takes part to a producer organisations with several farmers in order to supply his products to big organised distribution.
